Dylan Jensen, also known as “DJ” by many of his peers, is a student at USU studying 6 degrees, chief among them being Music Composition, Creative Writing and Audio Technology. He is currently working towards making his passion of and composing music for video games and ludomusicology his full-time job and hopes to inspire many to be actively engaged in fostering creative fields in the modern workforce. In his free time, DJ can be found practicing aikido, leatherworking, spending too much time watching music theory videos on YouTube, or storming the castle with his fellow farm boys. Huzzah!

What’s your favorite go-to summertime activity when not doing a show?

Frolicking în the meadows. Or going to get Japanese food—that’s good too.

What's one of your most cherished summer memories?

Pancakes and cold syrup after waking up on a camping trip in Bear Lake.

You've just been made captain of your own Prairie Pirate ship. what's the first rule you post?

No challenging squirrels to staring contests.

Tell us about a funny or embarrassing stage-related experience you’ve had.

I sang the high descant part of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” in my high school men’s choir. I have a high range.

You have 30 seconds to impress a room full of strangers. What do you do?

Make cricket noises with my mouth.

I compose music for video games, have a strange obsession with banana bread, and am obsessed with the Romanian language and Romanian culture.

Shout Out

Special shout out to whomever looked at a bunch of overripe bananas and said, “These aren’t trash—they’re dessert.” And blessed the world with banana bread.
